Goal

How can the SQL/Services dumps and/or log file locations be changed?

The V7.1.6 Oracle Rdb SQL/Services Configuration Guide states that this is possible using ALTER SERVER DUMP_PATH, or LOG_PATH, but using the command has no effect, and the dump and log file locations remain in SYS$MANAGER:
