Symptoms

When attempting to upgrade to 10.2.0.x  using DBUA or manually, the following error occurs:

DECLARE
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-14501: object is not partitioned
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR_D", line 232
ORA-06512: at line 32

Log file from DBUA, or the spool file of the upgrade script, shows the problem occurs at:

29 BEGIN
30 tablespacename := WhatTableSpace;
31 IF 'SYSTEM' = tablespacename OR 'SYSAUX' = tablespacename THEN
32 dbms_logmnr_d.set_tablespace('SYSAUX');
33 END IF;
34 END;
35 /

Tracing the failing sentence using event 10046 shows the following sql statement is causing ora-14501 :

alter index SYSTEM.<PK name> modify default attributes tablespace "SYSAUX"

NOTE:

To get the trace file :
> alter session set events '10046 trace name context forever, level 12';
> execute DBMS_LOGMNR_D.SET_TABLESPACE('SYSAUX');
> alter session set events '10046 trace name context off';
