RMAN CHANNEL TERMINATES AND SERVICE FAILS WITH NETBACKUP 5.1 (Doc ID 412512.1)

RMAN with Veritas Netbackup infterface NBU 5.1

Symptoms

When backing up or restoring using RMAN and the Netbackup media api the operations can hang or crash causing the Oracle service to crash with it. In RMAN the error will look like this:
