ORA-1295 DB_ID mismatch between dictionary %s and logfiles (Doc ID 427471.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 30, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.2.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

You have two databases, e.g. production and test, and want to perform logmining on the current redo log files of the production database but you do not want to perform the actual logmining on the production database.

You have built the Logminer dictionary on the test database and copied the production redo logs to start logmining to the test database environment.
However, you get the following error while starting the logmining process:

You cannot create a dictionary file in production (utl_file_idr is not setup and the instance should be bounced to do so).

How to logmine the production database logs on the test database?
