Symptoms
After an upgrade of the RDBMS version to 10.2 with fix for <bug 4864563> and setting the Database or Transparent Gateway for DRDA (TG4DRDA 10.2 or DG4DRDA 11.1) init<sid>.ora parameter -
DRDA_CAPABILITY=TO_NUMBER/ON
You may receive the following error message running SQL statements -
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

sqlcode=-440, sqlstate=42884, errd=FFFFFF9C,0,0,FFFFFFFF,0,0
