RDBPROD: Determining Reason for ORA-3113 or ORA-12224 When Connecting to Rdb (Doc ID 435570.1)

Goal

When trying to connect to an Oracle Rdb database on OpenVMS using SQLPLUS or FORMS or any client interface using SQLnet, the error:

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

is returned.  In addition, the error:

ORA-12224 : TNS:no listener

may also be reported.
