Purpose

The document was created for collecting diagnostic information. Many customers request Root Cause Analysis when it comes to database corruption issues. This is a very serious matter and almost all situations are down database issues.  Part of the analyst job is to make sure to collect the minimum information before resolving the issue as it will help in making sure we have most of the required information.

This document will assist analysts in collecting information required for diagnosing various types of corruptions.

This note is not for the customer and the premise around the note is that the analyst has some knowledge of corruptions and the tools involved. Please avoid to send the whole note to the customer; instead individual sections may be provided based on the corruption type. For example if there is a block corruption in a TABLE, post the data block corruption section in the issue.
