XAER_RMERR Error reported by an XA Application on Recovery (Doc ID 436362.1)

Symptoms

JDBC case

The JDBC Thin driver is being used by the XA application to connect to the database.

In the case of Weblogic the following error related to recovery is reported in the Weblogic log periodically

WSRdbXaResour E DSRA0302E: XAException occurred. Error code is: XAER_RMERR. Exception is: <null>

XARminst E WTRN0037W: The transaction service encountered an error on an xa_recover operation. The resource was J2CXAResourceInfo

The key error code is XAER_RMERR.

The exception stack trace follows:

javax. transaction.xa.XAException

at oracle.jdbc.xa.OracleXAResource.recover(OracleXAResource.java:613)

at com.ibm.ws.rsadapter.spi.WSRdbXaResourceImpl.recover(WSRdbXaResourc
eImpl.java:672)

C case

This would manifest itself as XAER_RMERR being reported when xa_recover is being performed.
