DBCA Fails To Register Database In OID Ldap Server

The following are the abbreviation
OID => oracle internet directory
DBCA => database configuration assistant
DB => database


 The following symptoms while registering DB with OID

(1) "Unable to create database  entry in directory service" error message

(2) trace from dbca execution indicates the java exception,

            at oracle.net.config.DatabaseService.addDBToSecurityDomain(DatabaseService.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.NetworkUtils.registerDBWithDirSrvc(NetworkUtils.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.step.BasicStep.execute(BasicStep.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.step.BasicStep.callStep(BasicStep.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.step.BasicStep.execute(BasicStep.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.step.Step.execute(Step.java)
            at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.step.StepContext$ModeRunner.run(StepContext.java)
            at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)
