Namespaced Elements Within A Document Cannot Be Queried Correctly, No Results Are Returned (Doc ID 438856.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 16, 2020

Applies to:

Berkeley DB XML - Version 2.3.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
NOTE: In the images and/or the document content below, the user information, the object name information, the database name information and data used represents fictitious data from the Oracle sample schema(s) or Public Documentation delivered with an Oracle database product or other training material. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

A particular namespaced element within a document stored in a BDB XML 2.3.10 container cannot be queried. For example, let’s assume the following document stored in container “Products.dbxml”:

it works, and the namespaced element <Price> is returned.

Although the first context query should retrieve the namespaced element as well, it doesn’t do that. This could be the case of any namespaced element within a document.
