ORA-09925 When Using DBCA Template (Doc ID 444811.1)

Symptoms

Creating a database with dbca by running the scripts generated by dbca, you get the following message:


-> sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
SQL*Plus: Release 9.2.0.8.0 - Production on Wed Jul 18 10:42:10 2007

ERROR:
ORA-09925: Unable to create audit trail file
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
Additional information: 9925
ORA-01075: you are currently logged on 

Even though the connection is being performed as the OS user ORACLE and the permissions have been changed on $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit and on the audit_file_dest specified in the init file to 777, the error is generated.
