Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2008

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.8
Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

This error was observed on 10.2.0.2 on a Linux 64-bit server.

Creating a SPFILE on a standby database failed with following error:

ORA-600 [kspsetpao1], [1935], [1881], [*],[user_dump_dest], [34], [], []

You have checked init.ora (or spfile) and verified user_dump_dest was set correctly and there was no problem for Oracle in accessing user_dump_dest.
