interMedia ORDSYS Objects Invalid In The SYS Schema After Upgrade When ORDSYS Schema Does Not Exist

(Doc ID 453121.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2013

Applies to:

Oracle Multimedia - Version 10.2.0.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading from a previous version to 10.2, there may be invalid (and valid) objects in the SYS schema that do not belong there.  ORD% objects belong in the ORDSYS schema, which is the designated schema which contains the objects for interMedia.

For example:

select owner, object_name from dba_objects where owner='SYS' and status='INVALID' and object_name like 'ORD%';

SYS ORDAUDIO_PKG
SYS ORDDOC
SYS ORDIMAGEINDEXSTATS
SYS ORDIMGIDXMETHODS
SYS ORDIMGSI_PKG
SYS ORDVIDEO_PKG
.....and others

Review the upgrade log files for alter session statements failing, but subsequent create object statements succeeding. For example:

SQL> alter session set current_schema="ORDSYS";
ERROR:
ORA-01435: user does not exist

SQL>
SQL> REM Create Libraries
SQL> @@ordlib
SQL> create or replace library ORDIMLIBS as 'e:\h\COTS\Oracle\Ora102\bin\oraordim10.dll';
2 /

Library created.
..... and so on

Changes

An upgrade or patch was recently applied to the DB.
