Missing LOGOFF Time Of Session in DBA_AUDIT_SESSION / DBA_AUDIT_TRAIL (Doc ID 456090.1)

Symptoms

Auditing is enabled for session. Up on checking DBA_AUDIT_SESSION, it is found that there are some opened session records (which sessions do not currently exist in the system).

 

SQL> select USERNAME, ACTION_NAME, TIMESTAMP LOGON_TIME,LOGOFF_TIME from DBA_AUDIT_SESSION where USERNAME = 'MEKHA' and trunc(TIMESTAMP) > trunc(sysdate-60) and ACTION_NAME = 'LOGON' order by TIMESTAMP desc ;

Database was shutdown using Shutdown immediate on weekly basis.

There sessions are non existent in the database and no entries for these connections in V$session
