ORA-600 [510], [], [redo copy] and ORA-1578 Reported with DB_BLOCK_CHECKING Set to True (Doc ID 456439.1)

Symptoms

+ Database  Version is 10.2.0.1.

+ If db_block_checking=TRUE  and there are zero length columns found in a data block 
   ORA-600[510] is reported along with ORA-1578 error:

Errors in file /opt/oracle/product/10.2/admin/udump/nldb76_ora_11979.trc:
ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted (file # 78, block # 197993)
ORA-01110: data file 78: '/opt/oracle/oradata/local/nldb76_nlcompany_data60.dat'
