Symptoms
Attempting to load data via the Direct Path Load API may fail with:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
When the client version is later or newer then the target database.
NOTE: OCI applications using the Direct Path Load API calls or other applications that also expose the Direct Path feature may encounter this issue. i.e SQLLOADER executing a data load with Direct Path enabled.
The error stack for SQLLOADER may look similar to the following:
SQL*Loader-951: Error calling once/load initialization
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
