ORA-07445: Core Dump [Qcdlgcd()+116] [Sigsegv] During MV Refresh in DBMS_SNAPSHOT (Doc ID 459323.1)

Symptoms

A refresh of a materialized view (MV) with DBMS_REFRESH resulted in the following error:
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [qcdlgcd()+116] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x000000037] [] []

The P/L SQL stack in the tracefile showed the following:
