Executing a text query using 'PT' as the search string we get the ORA-29902, DRG-50901 error:

create table a
(id number primary key, text varchar2(60));

insert into a
values (1,'Simple creation of a text index to test the Oracle Text installation');


create index a_idx on a(text) indextype is ctxsys.context;

WHERE CONTAINS(a.text, 'PT') > 0;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
