Symptoms
Logging off from a database session using SQL*Plus or any other tool is extremely slow. It is more likely to reproduce with remote logins and not necessarily with bequeath or local connections. This behavior can occur with any tool (SQL*Plus, JDBC). No action in the database is necessary, simply logging in and logging off might exhibit this problem. Level 16 server sqlnet traces may show a normal logoff and then repeating:
