How to Enable Oracle Disk Manager on Version 10 Software (Doc ID 462018.1)

Goal

You are currently operating on version 10 of the Oracle software.  You also have version 9 databases on the same server.  The version 9 databases have entries similar to the following in their start ups:  Oracle instance running with ODM: VERITAS 4.1 ODM Library, Version 1.1
 and I/O performance is noticeably better in the version 9 database.  You want to enable the Oracle Disk Manager (ODM) functionality on your version 10 databases.  You have searched the Oracle documentation but cannot find any instructions for how to enable this functionality.
