ORA-27102: Out Of Memory on Oracle 10g Solaris 10 (x86-64) (Doc ID 467707.1)

Symptoms

1) Unable to create a SGA greater than 3GB.  When setting the value for sga_target and sga_max_size greater than 3gb, you get the following error :

'ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment'

2) Solaris 10 (x64,x86) on HP/AMD Operton processor.

3) Encounter this problem when try to set sga_target and sga_max_size greater than the following values:

sga_target=3000000000
sga_max_size=3000000000

4) There is enough RAM (e.g. 63.99 GB) on the server

5) Project.max-shm-memory was correctly set, the projects shows:

6) You tested with different values in the project.max-shm-memory but the problem persists.
