Can Not Use Existing ASM For New Database (Doc ID 467756.1)

Symptoms

DBCA is unable to recognize the existing ASM in the system.

Trying to create a database using DBCA and configure it to use existing ASM instance in the system but receive the following message :

DBCA could not startup the ASM instance configured on this node. To process with ASM diskgroup
management you need the ASM instance to be up and running. Do you want to recreate the ASM
instance on this node?


ASM instance is up and running. Other databases on the node are connected to the ASM.
