Resource Manager Plan Is not Applied With Mixed or Lower Case Application Name (Doc ID 471173.1)

Last updated on JUNE 21, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.1 [Release 10.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Trying to integrate a mixed or lower case application into resource manager plan. You'll find that the plan is not applied as the application only appears in upper case as appears in the next query:

SQL> select * from DBA_RSRC_GROUP_MAPPINGS where attribute = 'CLIENT_PROGRAM';

A test case is provided below:

BEGIN
dbms_resource_manager.clear_pending_area();
dbms_resource_manager.create_pending_area();
dbms_resource_manager.set_consumer_group_mapping(
dbms_resource_manager.client_program,
"Test.exe",
'GROUPE_II_L_01'
);
dbms_resource_manager.submit_pending_area();
END;
/

After checking in the database, here's what will be seen:

SQL> select * from DBA_RSRC_GROUP_MAPPINGS
2 where attribute = 'CLIENT_PROGRAM';
