Non-Paged Pool Memory/Handle Count Leak When Using 10gR2 and Newer Listener for Pre-10gR2 Databases (Doc ID 472181.1)

Symptoms


While using 10gR2 or newer listener for any 10gR1 or older database, the issue described below might occur:

1. Handle count increases in oracle.exe but does not come down until restart of the database service.

2. tnslsnr.exe non-paged pool memory keeps increasing.


Handle count and non-paged memory use can be monitored from Windows Task Manager.

Changes

You are using a 10.2 or newer version of the listener to service any database version that is 10gR1 or older.
