Intermittent TNS-12533 Errors When Connecting to RAC Databases

1) Connections to RAC are intermittently failing with the following error: TNS-12533: TNS Illegal address parameters. You might observe the following in the sqlnet.log file at the client:
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 18.104.22.168.0 - Production
Windows NT TCP/IP NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version 22.214.171.124.0 - Production
