Intermittent TNS-12533 Errors When Connecting to RAC Databases (Doc ID 472394.1)

1) Connections to RAC are intermittently failing with the following error:  TNS-12533: TNS Illegal address parameters.  You might observe the following in the sqlnet.log file at the client:

Fatal NI connect error 12533, connecting to:

TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version - Production
Windows NT TCP/IP NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version - Production
Time: 17-DEC-2007 08:09:55
Tracing to file: C:\Oracle\8i\network\trace\client.trc
Tns error struct:
nr err code: 0
ns main err code: 12533
TNS-12533: TNS:illegal ADDRESS parameters
ns secondary err code: 12560
nt main err code: 503
TNS-00503: Illegal ADDRESS parameters
nt secondary err code: 0
nt OS err code: 0


This is likely a new installation.
