The purpose of this document is to

  • Summarize why  customers using Oracle RAC with vendor specific protocols like LLT, RDG, HMP  should use UDP for the interconnect protocol with Oracle RAC. 
  • Provide information to the customer on how to migrate from LLT to UDP.


All customers using Oracle 9i RAC or Oracle RAC 10g with any specialized Vendor specific protocol for Oracle RAC. 

Note that subsequent versions of the Oracle RAC Database are generally not supported with vendor specific network protocols such as LLT anymore.
