Symptoms

Select from DBA_REGISTRY shows "JServer JAVA Virtual Machine" component installed. However, "Oracle Database Java Packages" component is missing.

Example,

Select comp_name, status, version
from dba_registry
where upper(comp_name) like '%JAVA%' or comp_name like '%XDK%';

COMP_NAME STATUS VERSION
---------------------------------------- ----------- ------------
JServer JAVA Virtual Machine VALID 10.2.0.1.0
Oracle XDK VALID 10.2.0.1.0




Changes

Possible cause could be that this component was not installed when database was created or unsuccessful attempt to reload JVM component.
