Purpose
The purpose of this bulletin is to explain how to obtain Extended Datatype Support (EDS) for Streams.
Scope
Oracle Streams provides database support for a wide variety of datatypes, but does not provide native support for data movement of some advanced datatypes. However, by using Extended Datatype Support (EDS), you can take advantage of the flexibility of Streams to accommodate several more advanced datatypes.
