Symptoms

A Scheduler job of type EXECUTABLE is failing with:

ORA-27370: job secondary failed to launch a job of type EXECUTABLE
ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:accessing execution agent failed with status: 13
ORA-27301: OS failure message: Permission denied
ORA-27302: failure occurred at: sjsec 3


'$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/externaljob.ora' existed,
and was owned by root and the dba group.
Permissions (644):
-rw-r--r-- 1 root dba 1533 Oct 5 12:14 externaljob.ora

'$ORACLE_HOME/bin/extjob' existed,
and was owned by root and the dba group.
Permissions (4650):
-rwsr-x--- 1 root dba 88880 Jul 21 2006 extjob

The scripts that the job was intended to run had their permissions set correctly for the user/group configured in externaljob.ora.
