'Certificate Error: Navigation blocked' with HTTPS Site Access Using Internet Explorer 7 (Doc ID 566851.1)

Symptoms

An Application Server application has been configured for SSL access using a server certificate issued by Oracle Certificate Authority (OCA).

Users are unable to access the application using Internet Explorer 7 browser (IE7). The page 'Certificate Error: Navigation blocked' is displayed showing error:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.....


When the page is accessed in IE6, a Security Alert popup is displayed saying that the certificate sent by the server is not trusted and giving the option to continue. When 'Yes' is clicked to continue the application page is displayed successfully.
