ORA-27102 Received At Startup When LOCK_SGA Is Set Although Enough Memory Is Available. (Doc ID 577898.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to lock the SGA into memory and although there is enough memory is available on the server, one receives the following error when trying to startup the database :

SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET LOCK_SGA=TRUE SCOPE=SPFILE;

SQL> SHUT
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.

SQL> STARTUP
ORA-27102: out of memory
Linux-x86_64 Error: 12: Cannot allocate memory

Changes

Using Automatic Memory Management or Automatic Shared Memory Management.
