ORA-00600 [504][NLS DATA OBJECTS] Seen Frequently Within The Alert Log

(Doc ID 601583.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 28, 2016

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: to - Release: 10.2 to 11.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Server Enterprise Edition - Version: to

The following symptoms are seen :-

a) The alert log will sporadically report :-

ORA-00600: Interner Fehlercode, Argumente: [504], [0x3E58138], [32], [2], [NLS data objects]

b) The fifth, ASCII, argument must be [NLS data objects] and is typically seen from ORA or
    ARCx processes.

c) Stack trace will be similar to :-

Function List (to Full stack) (to Summary stack)
ksedst <- ksedmp <- ksfdmp <- kgeriv <- kgesiv
<- ksesic7 <- ksl_level_check <- kslgetl <- klcslod <- lxdlobj
<- lxdgetobj <- VInfreq__lxoCnvCa <- lxsCnvCase <- lxoMonoCmp <- VInfreq__lxoCmpSt
<- lxsCmpStr <- krsfqfrb <- kcrrcomp <- kcrrdmx <- kcrrdim
<- kcrrwkx <- kcrrwk <- ksbabs <- ksbrdp <- opirip
<- opidrv <- sou2o <- opimai_real <- opimai <- BackgroundThreadStart

No specific SQL is normally associated with the error.

The error in combination with the call stack, and typically lxsCmpStr <- krsfqfrb,
are significant symptoms of this problem.

If these are not present and the same ORA-600 is seen it may be an unrelated issue.
