This issue may occur on Oracle RDBMS 10.2.0.4 version running on AIX 5L platform.

Symptoms

Following error occurs during database startup immediately after patching a OracleHome from 10.2.0.x to 10.2.0.4

SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Mon Jun 9 14:32:37 2008

Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. All Rights Reserved.

SQL> conn /as sysdba
Connected to an idle instance.
SQL> STARTUP UPGRADE
ORA-27126: unable to lock shared memory segment in core
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 1: Not owner


This database has initialization parameter LOCK_SGA=TRUE.
Error ORA-27126 does not appear when LOCK_SGA parameter set to FALSE.

Changes

The Oracle Home binaries have been patched to 10.2.0.4.0.
