RDBPROD: Determining What Process Is Causing Another To Stall (Doc ID 63032.1)

You may see that when you access a DBMS database, your process appears to hang. A glance at the STALL MESSAGES screen within DBO/SHOW STATISTICS will show a line that may take on one of the following characteristics.

     process...      since......     stall reason....................

     2200313c:1      14:04:50:15     waiting for area 27 (EX)
     2200313c:1      14:04:50:15     waiting for record 27:323:4 (PR)
     2200313c:1      14:04:50:15     waiting for pages 27:323 to 27:325 (PR)
