RDBPROD: How to Add an ITEM, RECORD, or SET to a CODASYL DBMS Schema (Doc ID 63070.1)

Purpose

In some cases it becomes necessary to add new items, records or sets to a database schema. In order to do this, follow the set of steps given below. This procedure uses the DEFAULT_STORAGE_SCHEMA, DEFAULT_SECURITY_SCHEMA, and DEFAULT_SUBSCHEMA. The procedure works the same regardless of the names. Before attempting any modifications, read Chapter 6 in the DBMS Database Maintenance & Performance Guide and the explanation of the DBO and DDL commands in the DBMS Database Administration Reference Manual.
