RDBPROD: Translating Physical and Logical DBKeys to Data Rows (Doc ID 65934.1)

Last updated on APRIL 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 4.2 and later
HP OpenVMS VAX
HP OpenVMS Itanium
HP OpenVMS Alpha

Goal

Users accessing an Oracle Rdb database can sometimes be hung. RMU/SHOW STATISTICS provides a useful tool for diagnosing these hangs. This article explains how to use the dbkeys provided by RMU/SHOW STATISTICS to trace a stalled or hung user problem. Many times the first sign of a locking problem is either the message RDB-F-LOCK_CONFLICT, or an SQLCODE of -1003.
