RDBPROD: Using the Same CDD Repository on Two Different Platforms (Doc ID 66246.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle CDD/Repository - Version 5.3 and later
Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 7.0 and later
HP OpenVMS VAX
HP OpenVMS Alpha
HP OpenVMS Itanium

Goal

CDD/Repository is designed so that you can have one or more repositories in an OpenVMS cluster where all nodes, VAX, Alpha, and Itanium, can access the same repositories. To do this, you need to ensure that the disks where the repositories are stored are accessible to all nodes, and that all nodes have the same versions of Rdb and CDD software.

What happens if you have nodes which are running different versions of Rdb and/or CDD?

Suppose you want to use a copy of repository on a higher Rdb/CDD system that is being maintained on a lower Rdb/CDD system.
