Purpose
DECNET access to remote Rdb databases may be controlled using Rdb ACLs (Access Control Lists) and OpenVMS Proxy accounts.
To control database access for remote users, Oracle recommends you use proxy accounts for the remote user and define database protection based on the proxy accounts. The use of proxy accounts removes the risk of having passwords sent across the network.
