With OCI Services for Rdb (SQL*Net for Rdb), you can configure native Oracle tools such as SQL*Plus to communicate directly with an Rdb database using the SQL*Net protocol, the OCI (Oracle Call Interface) protocol, and TCP/IP.
Below is an example of a TNSNAMES.ORA file with an entry for an Oracle Rdb database and an Oracle RDBMS database. Note the Oracle RDBMS database listens on a different port than the Oracle Rdb database.
