Error EXP-107 When Trying To Export A Table With A Virtual Column Using Traditional Export (EXP) (Doc ID 728147.1)

Symptoms

When trying to export a table with a virtual column defined the following error will be raised:

EXP-00107: Feature (VIRTUAL COLUMN) of column ... in table ... is not supported.
The table will not be exported.

This is not only affecting traditional export (EXP) connected to 11g. It also occurs when attempting to export encrypted rows in 10g.

Example:

SQL> select owner, table_name, column_name from DBA_ENCRYPTED_COLUMNS;

OWNER           TABLE_NAME                     COLUMN_NAME
--------------- ------------------------------ ---------------
TC1             T1_ENCRYPT                     COL2

SQL> host exp tc1/tc1 file=exp.dmp tables=t1_encrypt

Export: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Tue Jun 8 11:32:10 2010

Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
server uses WE8ISO8859P15 character set (possible charset conversion)

About to export specified tables via Conventional Path ...
EXP-00107: Feature (COLUMN ENCRYPTION) of column COL2 in table TC1.T1_ENCRYPT is not supported. The table will not be exported.
Export terminated successfully with warnings.
