Getting ORA-27123 & not able to run Oracle when logging to server by a user other than that installed Oracle although it belongs to the same group (Doc ID 730107.1)

When trying to connect "/ as sysdba" with a Unix user who belongs to group "dba" (but is not the user who installed Oracle), the following errors are reported:
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
SVR4 Error: 13: Permission denied
