Symptoms

Customers may see ONS use CPU and memory. An example on Solaris (use ps or top on other Unix):

$ ps -ef | grep ons 
oracle 10877 10876 0 Jul 13 ? 448:30  u01/app/oracle/product/crs/opmn/bin/ons -d 
oracle 10876         1 0 Jul 13 ?     0:00  u01/app/oracle/product/crs/opmn/bin/ons -d
