How to Configure Oracle SES to Transparently Login With OracleAS Single Sign-On (Doc ID 732044.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Enterprise Search - Version 10.1.8.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Configure Oracle Secure Enterprise Search to transparently log users in when configured with Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On.

If you login to an Oracle AS SSO partner application protected by the same SSO server as SES, then navigate to SES you may still see the 'Login' link. If you then click on the login link and are logged in without requiring credentials, you can make use of the solution detailed in this article.

A SSO Hint Cookie can be configured on the SSO server to provide a hint to SES that you are logged in to another SSO partner application. If the hint cookie is present SES can redirect the browser to the login URL seamlessly logging the user into the SES application.
