Goal

Debug mode is useful for troubleshooting purposes.  In Secure Enterprise Search (SES) there are two primary log files that can assist in troubleshooting issues.

The Oracle Secure Enterprise Search Administration tool writes to the following log:

Version 10.1.x

$ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_SEARCH/log/oc4j.log

Version 11.1.x

$ORACLE_HOME/search/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer*.log

Version 11.2.2.2

The crawler log file can usually be found in the SES 11.2.2.2 install directory,
under ./middleware/logs/crawler/crawler  directory,  for ex: search.crawler.i1ds2.xxxxxxxx.log
If launching of crawler process if failing look in this directory also for log files of the form job#.log. eg 214.log

The log file for the Oracle Secure Enterprise Search Crawler Engine:

Version 10.1.x , 11.1.x and 11.2.x

To see the location of the crawler log, click on the schedule status of the schedule in question, the bottom of the page shows the file path to the crawler log.
