ORA-7445 [Kqlvld] Occurs in while Running Utlrp.Sql or DataPump (Doc ID 739336.1)

This problem can occur on any platform.


This issue was observed with Oracle on a Linux x86_64 server.

It occurred shortly after migrating from 32-bit to 64-bit and applying the CPUAPR2008 patch.

The utlrp script fails at the beginning with
   2 threads pls_integer := &&1;
   3 BEGIN
   4 utl_recomp.recomp_parallel(threads);
   5 END;
   6 /
   ERROR at line 1:
   ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

The alert log shows the following ORA-7445 error

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kqlvld()+10955] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to
object] [0x000000038] [] []

The issue reproduces consistently when running the utlrp.sql script

The trace file may show a failure in compiling rule sets.
