You create a SPFILE from a PFILE of a database instance and store the SPFILE on ASM storage.
After its creation the SPFILE got placed within a directory called DB_UNKNOWN.

SQL> create spfile='+ASMDATA' from pfile='$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initTEST.ora';
File created.

ASMCMD> ls -l
Type Redund Striped Time Sys Name
N spfiletest.ora =>+ASMDATA/DB_UNKNOWN/PARAMETERFILE/SPFILE.393.668068961

The SPFILE of the database was created within the sub-directory DB_UNKNOWN instead in a sub-directory TEST like expected.
