APEX is installed in an 11g DB and PDF printing is configured. When trying to export a region to run PDF file using ApEx's PDF Printing functionality, with either the Apache FOP or the BI_Publisher, the request gets one of the following errors:

1. If the reports "view file as" is set to inline see the following:

ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either
the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.

2. If the reports "view file as" is set to attachment see the following alert:

Acrobat could not open '<name.pdf>' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF.
