Replication Inconsistency for certain DDL commands (Doc ID 746640.1)

Last updated on JUNE 05, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.2.0.1 to 11.1.0.7 [Release 10.2 to 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

You have setup schema streams replication, and create a view under another schema for one of those tables that you are replicating.

You notice that the DDL to create the view is replicated to the apply site. However, if you issue a DROP VIEW on the source, that DDL does not replicate; this causes problems should you wish to recreate the view on the source, as it will raise an error on the apply site as the view already exists (ORA-955: name is already used by an existing object)

The same problem can be observed with SYNONYMs.
