Information in this document applies to any platform.Purpose

The purpose of this document is to help identify which files needs to be backed up in Oracle Clusterware (CRS) before you apply any patch or patchset that modifies the installation files.

The nature in which CRS operates on a particular operating system (OS) poses a requirement to understand what files control which part or component of CRS. For more details please consult <Note 556976.1>

Scope

This document will be useful to DBA in situations especially when CRS downgrade/removing option of patchset is not available, requiring restore of software files from backup for a backout operation.
