Symptoms

On 10.2.0.4, select literal from dual results in blank-padded results.
Eg. :
Startup the database with cursor_sharing=similar

 select 'X' dummy from dual;

DUMMY
-------------
X

alter session set cursor_sharing=exact;

Session altered.

select 'X' dummy from dual;
D
-
